  • iPad App | Prototype on Public Transportation

Transportation timetables are representations of spatial data that are typically very difficult to read and comprehend. This interactive time/space motion visualization of the various modes of public transportation in California is an app prototype with the goal of easing the decision making process before you travel! For this project, I learned the coding language of Processing in order to add the motion and interactive components. Los Angeles and Chico were chosen in order to contrast the different lengths of time it takes to travel in the state. Icons and a triadic color scheme was used to represent the train, plane, and bus. Users have the option of visually comparing the speed of travel as well as the additional date of average fare and departure/arrival times.
